The 2018 Chardonnay –S– is intense, clear and elegant on the well-balanced nose that is between fruit and yeast as well as chalky notes. Generous, wide and complex on the palate, this is a pure, elegant, salty, beautifully pure and Champagne-like Chardonnay with grip and tension. It is very long, purely mineral and salty. An exciting wine. Tasted in January 2020.

The 2018 Riesling Besigheimer Wurmberg "VDP. Grosse Lage" is pure and chalky on the nose, with intense yellow-fleshed fruit aromas of ripe grapefruit and lemons. Round and pure as well as elegant on the palate, this is a full-bodied Riesling that is more phenolic than the 2017 and still slightly reductive. It dries a little bit on the finish but has enormous substance and structure. Keep it. Tasted in January 2020

From a VDP. Grosse Lage next to the Steingrüble but climatically cooler and cultivated on Schilfsandstein, the 2018 Riesling Schlipshälde VDP. Grosse Lage offers a very attractively reductive grapefruit bouquet. Lush on the palate, this is a tight, fresh and juicy Riesling with lovely phenolic grip and lingering salinity and purity. Impressive wine. A long-distance runner. Tasted in January 2020.

Vinified in 300-liter oak barrels, the 2018 Weissburgunder –S– offers a super clear, pure and very elegant bouquet of ripe and juicy fruits with noble oak aromas. Very elegant and intensely fruity on the nose, this is a rich, sweetish, salty-piquant and finely tannic Pinot Blanc with great aging potential. The wine underwent malolactic fermentation only partly (50%) and comes with remarkable grip. Tasted in January 2020.
